The Story of Ida Blue
A Journey Integrating with the Spirit of Adatepe
Born in Adatepe Village, a village nestled in the foothills of the Kaz Mountains, with its stone houses and olive trees that stand the test of time, Ida Blue is not just a hotel; it is the embodiment of a philosophy of life, a passion, and a dream.
In the 1980s, a group of intellectuals from major cities, captivated by Adatepe’s captivating atmosphere, began purchasing and restoring the village’s stone houses. This initiative pioneered the village’s revitalization and the preservation of its cultural heritage.
The Story of Ida Blue Growing Up in a Family Home
At the heart of this story is a couple who love to explore new places.
Traveling to different corners of Turkey and the world whenever they can from the fast-paced pace of Istanbul, the family discovered Adatepe during a trip to the Aegean.
The stone houses, largely in ruins at the time, the village’s profound silence, and its captivating nature captivated them. The Civil couple, returning to this tranquil village at every opportunity, ultimately decided to establish a home here.
During their research, they heard the story of a special stone house in the village known as “İnka’s House.” Inka Linz, a German citizen who settled in Adatepe in the 1980s, won the love of the villagers and became deeply attached to its nature and spirit. As they learned about İnka’s unique connection with the village, their interest in Adatepe grew even stronger. Inspired by his philosophy of life and the mark he left on this land, they decided to continue their own story here.

From Family Home to Boutique Hotel
Over time, the Civil family purchased the neighboring stone houses, culminating in the three adjacent homes. These meticulously restored structures were not only a family escape but also a reflection of their desire to share this beauty with others.
This passion gave birth to Ida Blue in 2015. From the moment the hotel began welcoming guests, it became a haven of peace, elegance, and a “slow lifestyle” in the heart of the Kaz Mountains.
Today
Today, Ida Blue consists of four stone Greek houses, faithfully restored to their original state. Its 11 rooms, named after the native plants growing in the gardens, offer guests a blend of comfort and tranquility.
Each house features private living rooms, while the courtyards welcome you with a peaceful serenity that complements morning coffee, evening conversations, and starlit nights.
At the Heart of Slow Living
At Ida Blue, time slows down, life simplifies, and souls find serenity.
Everything here exists to preserve the spirit of Adatepe and carry this cultural heritage into the future. The passion for these lands is palpable in every stone wall, every olive branch, and every table.
