At Ida Blue, we believe that true luxury comes from simplicity, natural authenticity and meaningful connections. Our aim goes beyond offering accomodation: we seek to create a sustainable living environment that adds value to its surrounding nature, community and cultural heritage.
Preserving the cultural heritage of Adatepe and adding value to the texture of this unique village is at the core of our philosophy. That is why every detail of Ida Blue, from our stone walls to our tables, and our gardens to our team, is a reflection of the deep-seated respect we have for nature and our local heritage.
A Journey Connected to our Roots
Ida Blue came to life as the tangible expression of a family’s deep love for Adatepe, its people, and nature. Since our founding, we have adopted the principle of being an inseparable part of our village, prioritising growing together hand in hand with our neighbours. This bond comes to life in the fact that the majority of our team comes from surrounding villages, and their children are becoming part of our family through summer internship programs, strengthening our bonds across generations.
Circular Living and a Zero Waste Kitchen
To us, sustainability is not a trend, but a lifestyle extending from the soil to our table. It starts from the ground, nourishing the olive trees and extending to our kitchens, shaping our human relationships and hospitality. We believe in giving back to nature what we take from it.
That is why we separate food waste and transform it into compost for our garden’s nourishment. Otherwise, we also utilise natural fertilisers sourced in solidarity with our neighbours. Leftover food completes its journey by being shared with animals. We aim to waste nothing: every element is respected as part of nature’s cycle.
At Ida Blue, everything finds a new life. For us, this is a strong philosophy we embody, living in harmony with the soil, plants, animals and people.
Respect for the Environment
Respect for nature guides every decision we make. By minimising single-use plastics, implementing comprehensive recycling and compost systems, and using energy- and water-saving technologies, we actively protect our natural resources.
Restoration follows the principle of keeping alive rather than renewing, honoring our village’s original architectural spirit. This philosophy extends to our rooms, where eco-friendly, refillable amenities replace single-use products.
Local and Seasonal Production
We carry the abundance of the North Aegean to our tables in the footsteps of olive oil, herbs, grains, and the freshest vegetables of the season. Every plate, shaped in collaboration with local producers and artisans, is a reflection of our respect for natural flavours, slow living, and ingredients whose origins we know and trust.
Sustainable Community
We are committed to preserving both the nature and the cultural spirit of Adatepe. By supporting local craftsmanship and labour and organising retreats, workshops, and nature walks, we aim to foster meaningful connections. This commitment extends from the fair working environment we cultivate within our team, and to our active involvement in the social and cultural projects of our village.
Towards a More Sustainable Future
We continue to learn, evolve and take new steps. Artist-in-residence programs, student internships, ecological living workshops and plant recognition activities in our garden, and community platforms centred on shared knowledge are all part of our vision for a future lived in harmony with nature.
In every stem, our goal remains the same: to protect and share the spirit of the Ida Mountains, the balance of nature, and the timeless elegance of Adatepe.
