Born from a family home, İda Blue comes to life today as a boutique hotel with a restoration approach that respects cultural heritage.

The Story Of Ida Blue

A Journey Integrating The Spirit Of Adatepe

Born in Adatepe Village, where stone houses and ancient olive trees challenge time at the foothills of the Ida Mountains, Ida Blue is not just a hotel; it is the embodiment of a history, philosophy, and a dream.

In the 1980s, a group of intellectuals were captivated by the enchanting atmosphere of Adatepe and began purchasing and restoring the village’s stone houses. This movement led to the revitalisation of the village and the preservation of its cultural heritage.

The Story of Ida Blue Growing Up in a Family Home

Years later, a family from Istanbul, driven by a deep love for nature, travel, and meaningful places, discovered Adatepe during a journey through the Aegean. At the time, many of the village’s stone houses stood abandoned or in ruins, yet their profound silence and raw beauty left an immediate and lasting impression. Drawn back to Adatepe time and again, the family eventually felt a quiet certainty: this was a place to belong.

While researching the village, they came across the story of a remarkable stone house, known as ‘Inka’s House’, which was named after its previous owner, a German citizen who had settled in Adatepe in the 1980’s and earned the deep affection of its villagers.

As the family discovered more about Inka’s life and her unique connection to the village, their own attachment to Adataepe grew even stronger. Inspired by her philosophy and the enduring traces she left behind, they chose to celebrate and honour this fascinating story.

From Family Home to Boutique Hotel

Over time, the family acquired neighbouring stone houses, eventually bringing three adjoining homes together. Meticulously restored, these buildings became not only a personal refuge for the family but also an expression of their desire to share the beauty and spirit of Adatepe with others. This passion gave birth to Ida Blue in 2015.

From the moment we began hosting guests, Ida Blue became a haven of peace, elegance and ‘slow living’ in the heart of the Ida Mountains.
