Refika's Epic Story
A story of elegance born from Refika, the legendary Greek beauty of Adatepe
Named after Refika, Adatepe’s legendary Greek beauty, our restaurant
brings together the village’s historic stone architecture with the light of the Aegean. In this special setting, the elegance of the past merges with the comfort of the present.
At our restaurant, our guests don’t just dine; they become part of a magical experience where time slows down in the heart of the Aegean. Here, the subtlety of natural beauty, the depth of simplicity, and the warmth of history are palpable in every detail.
On the Trail of a Legend
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a Greek beauty known as “Refika” lived in Adatepe. Her grace, voice, and joy were a source of inspiration for the village.
Until the years of the Population Exchange arrived, and she was forced to leave her village…
But Refika’s story didn’t end there. Years later, the founders of the Adatepe Olive Oil Museum came across an old painting during their research on the island of Chios. When they brought the painting back to the village and showed it to the elders, the villagers, filled with tears, exclaimed: “Yes, that’s her! That’s our Refika!”
At that moment, this beautiful story, thought forgotten, was revived by the magical touch of a painting.
Today in Refika
